The Eames Executive Chair, or the Time Life Chair as we much prefer to call it, has always been our favorite Eames design. Originally created for the Time & Life Building in 1960, the chair has developed an unmistakable aura over the decades. Widely recognized for its historical significance, executive presence, and ingenious design, to us it is simply a storied icon that we seek out whenever the opportunity arises.

While the Time Life Chair is most often encountered in black or brown leather, and occasionally green, it is always a special sight to find one upholstered in a less familiar specification. We were immediately taken with this beautifully preserved, butter-soft original leather in a rich Bordeaux hue. The color shifts subtly with the light, revealing deep wine tones that warm toward brown, while the polished aluminum frame provides a striking contrast. It is, in our opinion, one of the most handsome combinations we've had the pleasure of offering.

This example remains in exceptional original condition with only minimal signs of age and use. It retains its original Bordeaux leather upholstery, polished aluminum frame, adjustable tilt mechanism, and manual height adjustment with approximately 3 inches of travel.

The great portfolio of Charles & Ray Eames is widely celebrated and serves as a model of inspiration for designers to this day. One of their most recognizable designs is the Aluminum Group line for Herman Miller from which these Soft Pad Executive Chairs were born. It is said that the Soft Pad variation was a design accident - cushions from the Eames Chaise found themselves draped over an Aluminum Group chair, and the rest is history. Whatever the story may be, the comfort of Charles & Ray’s Soft Pad seating perhaps rivals that of their famed Eames Lounge Chair.

The Soft Pad collection consists of a Lounge Chair, a Low Back Management Chair, and this High Back Executive Chair. The design language is similar to the Eames Aluminum Group suite which sports a single “sling” of material which is tethered to two cast aluminum side rails and in this case, four plush cushions for optimal comfort. These chairs are equipped with a tilt mechanism with tension control as well as manual height adjustment.

We have a large quantity of these Eames Soft Pad Executive Chairs all in their original Maharam Wool Flannel upholstery in the color Charcoal. These chairs are in very good condition and show minor wear and rich patina consistent with age and history. The soft Maharam wool is a great fit for one’s home office yet durable enough to withstand high traffic use in an office environment.

Scandinavian Modernism represents a body of work that has had a tremendous impact on the furniture industry. Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian designers and manufacturers placed great importance on material, form, and simplicity. One of Norway’s great exporters, Westnofa (West Norway Factories), shared Scandinavian design with the world.

We love Brazilian Rosewood for both its rarity and its striking appearance. We aim to collect as many examples of modern design featuring rosewood as possible, with the goal of preserving these pieces and passing them on to clients who will cherish them for at least another lifetime. This impressive eight-drawer design by Westnofa exhibits beautifully figured rosewood grain from every angle.

Eero Saarinen’s Pedestal Collection remains one of the most iconic achievements in modern furniture design. The Mid-Century Modern design movement is known for many firsts brought to us by a wave of influential designers. Their work sought out to simplify the cluttered aesthetic they inherited from previous generations by utilizing cutting edge materials and production on a mass scale. Within this group of talent is an icon who approached the field as an artist-sculptor, Paul Evans’ contributions to Mid-Century Modern design are immediately recognizable, with great reason.

Evans was sculptor, silversmith, and craftsman. His understanding of materials was a momentous influence throughout his career, which we now know to be both vast and incredibly diverse. His work for Directional Furniture is perhaps what propelled Evans to design stardom. His work for Directional began in the 1950’s with a select number of pieces. After much success with the company, as well as an exhibition at the Museum of American Crafts in 1961, Evans became the Directional furniture designer where he would develop notable lines such as his Cityscape Series.

The shown PE-11 Angle Zig-Zag motif cocktail table is from his Sculptured Metal collection. An assemblage of steel and bronze with artful welds and gorgeous oxidation and patina elevates this collection from design to art. The original piece of 3/4” thick glass is intact with no chips whatsoever. Each of the levelers have also been retained allowing for this piece to be installed with ease. This PE-11 Cocktail Table is an excellent example of preserved Paul Evans design, his sculptor’s approach to design is a breath of fresh air in today’s world of furniture.

Master craftspeople are those who skillfully draw connections to historical design motifs and reinterpret them with relevance and restraint. While few ateliers possess this level of discipline and vision, the renowned Therien Studio Workshops is one whose work consistently honors timeless design traditions.

This monumental cabinet, produced by Therien for Fournir Collections, is a masterclass in architecturally inspired design. Its presence in a room is quietly commanding, and upon closer inspection, its refined details reveal a captivating complexity.

Though unmistakably inspired by the Art Deco movement, the cabinet employs its influences with subtlety and sophistication. Most notably, its central panel features a sculptural geometric relief finished in a rich champagne-toned paint. As light moves across the surface, each angular face shifts between highlight and shadow, creating a mesmerizing interplay of depth and tone. Surrounding this panel, a field of bookmatched burlwood showcases exceptional veneer work, with undulating cuts and carefully considered rotations that evoke the effect of marquetry and imbue the surface with quiet dynamism.

The expressive materiality is elegantly grounded by bold walnut borders that frame the cabinet’s form like architectural columns. These dark frames emphasize the verticality of the piece, offering structure and balance to its otherwise monumental scale. The base, composed of intersecting walnut stretchers, nods to Asian furniture traditions and adds a sense of visual lightness and lift.

Inside, the cabinet reveals a system originally designed for entertainment; a pullout swiveling stand perfect for a bar and a top shelf for wireless speakers or added storage. The generously sized double doors can be discreetly slid into the body of the piece on concealed tracks. We’ve always been drawn to the elegant proportions of both Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern design. Though stylistically distinct, these movements share a sense of refinement that resonates beautifully in this Petite Settee. Designed in the early 1950s, it embodies a seamless blend of both influences—its graceful silhouette reminiscent of the work of Thonet and Alvar Aalto, with slender bentwood arms and just the right amount of upholstery to maintain its sophisticated presence.

Our team undertook an extensive restoration, carefully bringing the piece down to its frame. The bentwood arms were meticulously refinished, revealing a warm, honeyed grain that enhances the wood’s natural character. We replaced all interior padding and support, sculpting each element to honor the original curves of the design.

For the upholstery, we selected a luxurious Ivory Wool from the renowned Holland & Sherry, featuring a delicate herringbone weave that subtly enhances the settee’s contours. To define its form further, we finished the edges with a Sepia Linen piping trim, a refined contrast that complements the richness of the wood arms.

Perfect for a nook, home office, or foyer, this Petite Settee offers both comfort and style—gracefully welcoming guests with open arms.

The work of American of Martinsville, particularly pieces designed by Merton Gershun, has long appealed to us. Gershun’s restrained design language and refined proportions resulted in furniture that feels both understated and enduring.

This uncommon sideboard is among the rarer American of Martinsville pieces we have encountered. Its distinctive hardware immediately drew us in: recessed brass bail pulls sit flush within each drawer front when not in use, while a series of overlapping rings lends an unexpected decorative detail to the base. To celebrate these thoughtful design elements, each piece of hardware has been carefully restored in a light gold finish.

Crafted in ash veneer, the cabinet has been completely refinished in a rich dark cognac brown that beautifully accentuates the wood’s striking grain while providing a warm contrast to the restored hardware.

Florence Knoll's transformative influence on Mid-Century design is reflected in every piece of furniture that bears her name, including this elegant dining table. Knoll’s commitment to functionality and aesthetics often led her to design furniture for spaces that lacked suitable options, resulting in the creation of her now-iconic furniture collection. This visually weightless table was originally marketed as both a desk and a dining table. The oval top, crafted from exquisite Gray marble, features crisp white veins and a refined bullnosed edge inspired by Eero Saarinen’s iconic Tulip Pedestal Tables. The base, however, is distinctly Florence Knoll—an ingenious design of four solid cast steel splayed legs converging into a single central column. This masterfully balanced structure achieves a remarkable sense of weightlessness, despite its substantial materials.

This vintage iteration, circa 1980, remains in excellent original condition, showcasing only minor wear consistent with its age and history. It is a testament to Florence Knoll’s ability to combine monumental craftsmanship with an enduring sense of modern sophistication, making it an ideal centerpiece for any discerning collector or design enthusiast.

With the goal of creating pieces of high-design that differed from contemporaries such as Knoll and Herman Miller, Irving & Leon Rosen founded the Pace Collection in 1960. They looked to the simplicity of materials to be the voice of their collection, all expertly fabricated and finished. Polished metals and high gloss exotic veneers were commonplace and to this day remain unapologetically Pace.

A prime example from the Pace Collection, and one which is rarely seen, is this exquisitely executed Accent Table. The design is almost magical as the glass appears to simply float, only secured by one brass column of support. The piece comes together with just one threaded fastener under the solid brass disc which sits atop the glass. The assemblage of glistening bulldozed edge glass, polished brass, and simple wedge geometry create a piece of home décor akin to fine jewelry.

This table retains its original glass, while some minor wear exists, it is in very good condition with no chips whatsoever. The brass base shows signs of rich patina which adds to the piece’s seasoned appearance. This table can be used in a multitude of settings: a drink table, cigar table, between two club chairs, or accompanying a lounge - the options are limitless.

This phenomenal petite vanity is very much in the style of Gio Ponti, as his delicate and diminutive aesthetic is ever present throughout the piece. A small label, written in Italian on the underside, offers evidence of its origin.

The exquisite rosewood is the highlight of an otherwise simple and highly practical work of functional design. Solid brass adorns the piece, accenting the rosewood with jewelry-like corner wraps, pulls, and sabots.

We discovered that the interior storage space was once illuminated, and as such, we worked to restore that feature. The new lighting is set behind glass within the storage compartment, and the entire piece has been refinished.

We’ve always been drawn to Jens Risom’s work. His aesthetic forms a harmonious bridge between Danish and American design, a balance he mastered effortlessly.

This Risom “Model 108” chair has enough presence to stand confidently on its own within a space. It delights from every angle, framed by the beautifully angled and contoured woodwork for which Risom is known.

After refinishing the walnut frame, we found ourselves inspired by its color and grain. For contrast, we selected a cashmere-like alpaca fabric for the upholstery.

In the world of Mid-Century Modern design, especially in the high-end market, the name John Stuart stands out. The elegant yet elusive "John Stuart Inc." label is often found on pieces of exceptional design. In some cases, this label appears alongside the "Johnson Furniture Co." mark, both companies proudly based in the furniture capital of the time, Grand Rapids. John Stuart, a pioneer in his field, built a brand known for distributing only the finest furniture and home décor. His line included Danish imports under the John Stuart brand and close collaborations with Johnson Furniture Co., which featured designs by the renowned Paul Frankl. These nightstands are a perfect example of this partnership: curated by John Stuart, crafted by Johnson Furniture Co., and, based on our research, confidently attributed to Paul Frankl himself.

These 3-drawer nightstands exemplify exceptional design. A close look reveals that every detail has been thoughtfully executed, characteristic of Paul Frankl's work. The choice of materials alone speaks to their superior quality: walnut exteriors, oak and mahogany dovetailed drawers, and brass inlays and pulls. Reproducing such craftsmanship today would be a daunting task, which inspired us to restore them to their fullest potential.

Each nightstand has been meticulously refinished, both inside and out, restoring them to a near-new condition. The walnut exteriors have been stained in a timeless ebony, allowing the warmth of the wood to subtly shine through. The brass inlays framing the drawers and defining the base have been polished to a brilliant sheen, creating a striking contrast with the ebony finish. The proportions are masterfully balanced, with details like the gradual increase in drawer size and the way the drawers appear to float above their base, showcasing the artistry behind their design.

This petite cocktail table is in the style of Pace Collection, it exemplifies the best of Leon Rosen’s aesthetic. The materiality is simple; gorgeous marble and polished chrome - the two come effortlessly come together in a way only Pace could have imagined. The round marble feels expansive atop three polished chrome columns. The assembly of this piece is completely hidden within each chrome cap, finishing off the design’s simplicity.

This table remains in its original condition with considerably minor wear. No chips can be found in the marble or chrome, minor abrasions exist throughout, consistent with age and history.

We were drawn to this table for its powerful yet elegant stance, with pointed legs and a cross-stretcher base that is delightful from every angle.

Our team evolved the design with a gloss Green lacquer infused with subtle metallic flecks, complemented by brass hardware and a gold finished cross stretcher.

We added an upholstered inset top in smooth Italian leather, enhancing its function from an accent table to a potential game table or writing table.

Exotic woods and high-gloss finishes, paired with unparalleled build quality, are cornerstones of what defines a Pace Collection piece. This credenza, while just 6 feet in length, feels monumental.

Beautiful burlwood is bookmatched across each door face as well as the top, forming a geometric sunburst motif. The high-gloss finish enhances the richness of the burlwood, making this piece a pleasure to view from any angle.

With the included French cleat, this piece is designed to be wall-mounted. Its uses are versatile, as a low media cabinet or mounted higher as a sideboard or foyer console.

While modular design is commonplace today, it was still somewhat novel during the time of Otto Zapf, the designer of this now-discontinued Knoll Zapf Executive Chair.

Each cushion in Zapf’s design was intended to be swappable and interchangeable. The user can simply lift off every upholstered cushion, shown here in its beautiful original saddle brown leather, for cleaning or in the event of damage. Beneath lies an ingenious frame onto which the cushions attach securely.

This chair is the last from a collection we acquired from its original owner. Our team has meticulously polished every element, revealing a rich patina, as expected with high-grade materials such as genuine leather and steel.

The world of lighting design has evolved far beyond simple utility, entering a realm where form meets art and sculpture. Few names embody this movement better than Koch & Lowy, whose Mid-Century Modern designs continue to influence contemporary aesthetics. This Modernist Task Lamp is a striking example of their forward-thinking, timeless work.

A modernist interpretation of the classic Mid-Century mushroom form, the lamp features a semi-polished aluminum finish that is softer and more refined than a full polish. Hidden within its UFO-like shade is a circular fluorescent bulb, thoughtfully updated with a new warm-white replacement for today’s use.

Composed of just three seamlessly integrated elements—the shade, finial cap, and solid metal base—this minimalist lamp achieves elegance through simplicity. Its understated design allows it to complement a wide range of interiors, a hallmark of Koch & Lowy’s enduring appeal.

The design world thrives on both competition and collaboration, each playing a role in shaping notable work and driving aesthetic evolution. In 1897, two successful companies and fierce rivals, Heywood Brothers and Wakefield Company, merged to form the renowned Heywood-Wakefield. Today, the brand is celebrated for its extensive portfolio of highly sought-after furniture. Like any forward-thinking company, its designs evolved through numerous stylistic shifts over time. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Heywood-Wakefield explored forms influenced by French Art Deco. Pieces from this period are rarely encountered, including this pair of sculptural M340C armchairs, which have been fully restored in our workroom.

The Object Refinery team stripped these chairs down to their frames to carry out a comprehensive restoration. A whitewash finish was applied to the birchwood, creating a relaxed and understated look. The light wood frames pair beautifully with the natural lambswool used on the upholstered seat and back. This thick pile material is exceptionally soft to the touch. The combination of a sculptural wood frame and plush shearling cushions creates a striking sense of balance and visual appeal from every angle.

These chairs have undergone a full restoration in the Object Refinery workroom. As vintage pieces, they show minor wear consistent with age and history. Each frame was refinished by hand, and along with new lambswool upholstery, both chairs feature new foam padding. The result is a thoughtfully updated pair that has been carefully preserved for years to come.

Pepe Cortés’ intention for his Jamaica Stools was ease of placement in a range of environments. Commercial grade durability paired with essential comfort for the home are both found in his timeless design which without question has become an icon within its category.

The polished aluminum frames are as forgiving as they are durable, the design nuance of a slightly matted seat allows for fingerprints to be non-existent. The stools are equipped with 360° swivel which remains effortlessly smooth. For structural integrity and added comfort, each stool’s base is finished with a seamless ring foot rest.

Object Refinery has thoroughly gone over each vintage stool to bring them to their best possible condition. They are in good vintage condition showing wear consistent with age and history.

We acquired this table along with a suite of custom Knoll pieces from the 1980s and attribute the design to a lesser-known line by Charles Pfister.

In a word, this piece is monumental. It offers a generous setting for six to eight guests with room to spare.

Every edge is softly rounded, creating a graceful and timeless silhouette.

The mahogany tabletop initially reads as leather wrapped, an interesting detail since some of these rarely seen Pfister tables were in fact produced that way.

Our team has fully restored the piece to its original condition, including a complete refinishing of its sleek black interior. Material synergy was an idea commonly experimented with in the Mid-Century and remains popular in contemporary design. The shown table is a newly fabricated custom piece, designed specifically to accommodate a Set of 4 Brno Flat-Bar Chairs in matching Ivory Leather which are separately available. This pedestal table showcases clean lines and sleek materials which very much lend itself to not only the Brno Chair design, but any minimalist environment.

The perimeter is crafted from maple veneer which features a rich burst-like grain around the edge. Inset into the table’s center is a gorgeous Italian leather in the color Ivory. The top is set upon a polished chromed steel drum base, reflecting the surrounding environment, and thus blending into the room with ease.

This tables remains in original condition with minor wear consistent with age and history. While originally it was the gathering point for the Set of 4 Brno Flat-Bar Chairs, it can be used as a meeting table, pedestal table in a foyer, or even a card table.
