We’ve always been drawn to the mushroom form in our pursuit of timeless lighting. In its best expressions, the familiar idea of a lamp is challenged, moving beyond the traditional combination of base and fabric shade. In the work of Laurel Lamp Company or Bill Curry’s designs for Stemlite, blown glass provided an organic solution to the shade. Here, the mushroom form is interpreted differently, with shade and base crafted entirely from the same material, creating an object that reads first as sculpture and second as lighting.

This modernist Mushroom Floor Lamp is constructed entirely from polished aluminum, its reflective surfaces taking on the colors and character of the surrounding environment. Unlit, the minimalist silhouette has an almost architectural presence. Once illuminated, the broad domed shade casts a generous spread of downward accent light while maintaining the purity of its sculptural form.

The lamp features three-bulb lamping, allowing one, two, or all three bulbs to be illuminated. Each setting is selected through a discreet metal push button integrated into the design. The polished aluminum has developed a rich, naturally varied patina with age, lending depth and character to its otherwise restrained form. The lamp is fully functional and has been tested by our team.
