Object Refinery is pleased to partner with Brooklyn-based design house Studio Baldo to present a curated collection of the studio's prototypes. While each piece reflects Studio Baldo's distinctive design language, none has been introduced into the studio's standard production collection. Produced in extremely limited quantities, these unreleased works document the studio's process of exploration through unique studies in design, scale, material, and execution.

The Rondo Horizontal Pendant explores the relationship between silk and light through a distinctly contemporary lens. Its hand-stretched silk shade is built around a central opal glass diffuser, which softens and distributes the light before it reaches the silk, producing a soft, warm, even glow while revealing the material's subtle texture. The pendant's concentric construction lends the form a quiet sense of depth, while polished chrome hardware cleanly frames the shade and continues through to the matching canopy.

This example is one of two Rondo Horizontal Pendants produced in a 20-inch diameter configuration, the second executed in Blackened Brass. The design was never introduced into Studio Baldo's production collection and is accompanied by a signed Studio Baldo Certificate of Authenticity.
