Object Refinery is pleased to partner with Brooklyn-based design house Studio Baldo to present a curated collection of the studio's prototypes. While each piece reflects Studio Baldo's distinctive design language, none has been introduced into the studio's standard production collection. Produced in extremely limited quantities, these unreleased works document the studio's process of exploration through unique studies in design, scale, material, and execution.

The Rondo Ceiling Pendant reimagines the studio's Rondo form as a suspended architectural light. Defined by two concentric circles elegantly wrapped in silk, the design explores the interplay of mass, void, and illumination. When lit from within, the natural warmth of the silk comes to life, casting a brilliant, even glow while celebrating the material's delicate character. Quiet accents of blackened brass complete the composition through the fasteners and matching canopy.

This example is one of two Rondo Ceiling Pendants produced by Studio Baldo, its companion prototype executed in pleated Rice Paper. This silk material study was never introduced into Studio Baldo's production collection and is accompanied by a signed Studio Baldo Certificate of Authenticity.
